Open Door Housing Association

A safe home and a fresh start.

We are a not-for-profit housing association. We provide rooms, apartments and houses, with support when it is needed, for people who need a place to live.

London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and across the South of England

Our mission

To open the door to a safe and settled home for every adult who needs one, and to help them keep it.

Many people leave care, a hostel or a refuge with nowhere safe to go. We give them a home of their own, whether a room in a well run shared house, an apartment or a house, and the help they need to settle.

Any money we make goes back into our homes and our services.

What we do

We provide homes

Rooms in shared houses, self-contained apartments and family houses, ready to move into.

We support people

Help with benefits, bills, cooking, wellbeing and moving on to a long term home.

We work with councils

Fast replies to referrals, clear rent breakdowns and regular updates to the worker.

Two types of housing

We offer standard homes for people who mainly need somewhere to live, and supported housing for people who need more help.

Standard home

A room, apartment or house

Rent is paid by the housing part of Universal Credit or by housing benefit, at the Local Housing Allowance rate for the area and size of home.
